January Favorites

We made it to February! Every year, I see people post about how loooooong January seems, and while it does seem kinda long to me, I feel like it's just the comedown from the holiday season and going from having so much going on in November/December to nothing major in January. Either way, we made it through and we're one step closer to warmer days, which is always what I'm looking forward to!

I had a lot of good favorites from January, so I narrowed it down to ten! These are all of the best things I've been loving the first month of 2020:

  1. Chrome paint set: I love shopping for beauty products around the holiday season because so many good value sets come out. I've been wanting to try Tarte chrome paints forever, so I picked up this set of four different shades when I saw it back in December. I love the formula, I apply it with my fingertip and it's so metallic and beautiful. My favorite shades in the set are citrine and pink.
  2. Initial necklace: The necklace layering trend is still going strong, and I'm still loving it. Every girl like a little personalized piece like this, and I appreciate that the opening on the pendant is large enough that you can interchange the chain you wear it with. It's great that this one comes in every single letter (although a few are currently out of stock) because I have friends with certain initials who complain they can never find theirs in certain products.
  3. Michael Kors continental wallet: I was in desperate need of a new wallet, and I ordered this one back in early December. It's so practical and high quality! It has tons of credit card slots and different compartments, and it's long enough to fit bills without having to fold them, which was my issue with my previous wallet. My last wallet was from Michael Kors too and lasted me over four years, so I know that this one will serve me just as well. It comes in and out of stock in different colors; I got black.
  4. Nespresso: I got this for Christmas from Kenny, and I've been loving using it over the past month! I wanted a machine that would prepare both coffee and espresso, this one does that and more. It comes with a milk frother too, which was another must for me.
  5. Oatly barista edition: I've been loving using this with my Nespresso! It's a great non-dairy milk option that actually froths (it's made for it!) and it tastes so good in my weekend lattes. Use it in my honey cinnamon latte recipe for a real treat!
  6. OPI "Casino Royale": Ever since last fall, this has been my favorite nail color. Upon researching it I've found out that it was limited edition and it's no longer made (tears!), but my salon still has it so check to see if yours does too.
  7. Lace up boots: After falling in love with my J. Crew Nordic boots before Christmas, I had to have a similar pair in black too. I can't find the exact pair I have online, but I found two similar pairs here and here. I love wearing these to dress up a leggings outfit, and I get compliments every time I wear them!
  8. Starbucks mug: I always love seeing the new Starbucks mug releases, and the Valentine's line is too cute. My favorite is this confetti heart handle one, I love clear mugs for some reason (I'm sure a lot of people agree!) There was a version just like this during Christmas with glitter in the handle that I missed out on, so I knew I had to snag this when I saw it.
  9. Uncut Gems: PEOPLE... I LOVED THIS MOVIE. I saw it with Kenny a the beginning of the month basically just to humor him, I had no interest in seeing it. But boy was I surprised by how much I enjoyed it! It's not the type of movie I usually like; it's completely stressful to watch from the opening scene until the credits roll, but darn if it isn't captivating. I definitely don't think it would be for everyone, but it's so unique and I'd definitely watch it again.
  10. Leopard coat: I LOVE this coat! I featured it in a trend spotlight and then in my blog-iversary post last week. I bought it sort of on a whim, and was surprised by how much I loved it when I tried it on. I find myself gravitating toward more neutral outfits just so I can top them with this coat. I get tons of compliments on this coat and always catch people staring at it (whether they love it or hate it, I don't care, ha!) It runs large, I sized down in it and it still has plenty of room for layering. It's been coming in and out of stock, but I also love this similar one.

I hope you had a great weekend! Did you watch the Super Bowl?? I was in it for the snacks and commercials like every other year, but I always love a good celebration of Americana! I also drank my BABE wine like a good American. I'm a faithful stalker of their Instagram and definitely wish I had been in Miami celebrating the game with them, ha!
