October Favorites

Just like that, we're in November! October is my favorite month of fall, but I also love November! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, so it's always a fun month in anticipation of that. What I do NOT love about November is the dreaded time change! I swear I never get used to it until it's time to switch back again in the spring. But enough about that, let's talk October favorites...

    1. Collared sweater: If you saw my post about collared sweaters, then you know I'm having a major moment with them this season! This one is a dream (styled in this post), and it feels so much more expensive than it is! It's almost sold out, but this one is another great affordable option. If you're looking for something more luxe, I LOVE this cashmere one.
    2. Half Baked Harvest: Half Baked Harvest is a cooking blog, and I've seen the author Tieghan's recipes floating around on Pinterest for years, I don't know why it took me so long to follow the blog! All of the recipes are easy and unique, and her photos are GORGEOUS. Follow the Half Baked Harvest Instagram page for major food porn!
    3. Longchamp Le Pliage: Longchamp bags were ALL THE RAGE when I was in college, and they're still quite popular! I was in the market for a simple black tote bag for travel a couple of months ago and couldn't seem to find one that I loved, so I went back to the Le Pliage because I knew what to expect from it. I love this all black version, it's chic and lightweight and I love that it zips.
    4. Dot's pretzels: I kept seeing people rave about these pretzels, so I had to try them for myself. They really are unique and live up to the hype! They have the flavor of butter, but are also the tiniest bit spicy.
    5. No-show thongs: I was never really a thong-wearer unless I absolutely needed one. I never understood how people thought they were comfortable! That is, until I got some of these no-show thongs. They're the only thongs I've ever worn that are truly comfortable, even to sleep in!
    6. Vivino app: My friend told me about this app, and it's a great one for you wine lovers out there! It allows you to rate wines you've tried before, and it recommends others based on the ones you like. You can also connect with friends on the app and see which wines they're rating.
    7. Juicy Tubes in "Birthday Confetti": Lancôme Juicy Tubes have become my favorite lip glosses lately (alongside the Buxom lip polish - "Celeste" is my favorite shade!) They are long lasting but not sticky, and I like the squeeze tube applicator because it's more sanitary than a doefoot and it keeps you from contaminating the gloss with lipstick if you apply it over top of lipstick. My favorite shade lately has been "Birthday Confetti," and I also love "Marshmallow Electro."
    8. Tortoiseshell earrings: These tortoiseshell hoops have been a go-to fall accessory for me for the past few years, and I just got a slightly smaller pair than I already had. They look so nice with an all-black outfit!
    9. Mac lipstick in "Whirl": This shade has been a favorite among MAC lipstick lovers. I finally picked up a tube back in the summer, and it has become my go-to shade. It's a great deep nude and looks good on cool skin tones - I often have trouble finding nude shades that don't look orangey on my cool-toned skin.
    10. Houndstooth headband: I cannot resist a knotted headband, and I absolutely love this one for fall! It's so cute and preppy, I love it with an oversized sweater and jeans.
    11. Geodesaurus Tiktok: This is a random one, but Kenny and I have so enjoyed Geo's "spooky lake month" series on Tiktok this month! Basically she's been posting a video every day about "haunted hydrology" AKA creepy, strange facts about a body of water. They're all so interesting, and we watch the new one every night before bed. We also love how she intros all of her videos with "um, yes, hello!" 😂 We're going to miss the daily videos now that October is over!

I hope you had a great Halloween weekend! I had a cold most of the weekend (yuck) but still got a few little Halloween activities in! Kenny and I went to a really cool haunted attraction held inside a parade float museum which was SO creepy, and then yesterday we went "trick-or-treating" at my parents' house AKA we brought over Reese's pumpkins and cheese and crackers over and watched a Hallmark Christmas movie. 😂
