August Favorites

I'm in denial that August is over, yet here we are! Help me numb my pain about approaching the conclusion of summer by chatting about monthly favorites with me...

    1. Fanny pack: Are we calling theses "belt bags" now? I don't care, I like fanny pack! I never saw myself as a casual fanny-pack wearer (only during hikes!) but dang this thing is kind of a game changer. It's supposed to be a dupe for the Lululemon one, but I've never had one of those so I can't speak to how similar they are.
    2. Hot honey chips: I kept seeing these around and Kenny and I finally grabbed a bag to try and I was surprised by how good they are! They're not very spicy at all, but have the best sweet and savory flavor that I just cannot resist.
    3. The Hotel Nantucket: This is the second Elin Hilderbrand book I've read and I loved it! Both books of hers that I've read have been engaging and easy to read, and I look forward to resuming reading through her books next summer (most of them are beach reads!)
    4. Midnight Cocktails candle: This is such a nice homey, warm scent for the upcoming fall season. The notes include rich cedarwood, spiced clove and dark tobacco, and it's one of those candles that smells sophisticated and expensive.
    5. Green aventurine candy necklace: THAT'S RIGHT PEOPLE, another candy necklace. 😂 I now have three from this shop and couldn't love them more, they're SO nice for the price, and I've worn them countless times this summer! I like this green one because it's sort of similar to my birthstone, peridot.
    6. Buttery Chardonnay: Humor me for a minute, because I had kind of a life changing moment recently - I've always heard people use the term "buttery Chardonnay" but never really knew what they meant until I tried Clos Pegase Mitsuko Chardonnay as part of a flight last month, and I instantly understood! It really tasted like BUTTER which sounds like it might be gross but is so pleasant. Ever since, I've been wanting to try more buttery Chardonnays. The only other one I've had so far has been the Bread & Butter, which is very different than the Clos Pegase but also very nice.
    7. Ice roller: I kind of forgot about my ice roller for a while, but I've been using it after washing my face each morning this summer and it feels SO nice. It's supposed to de-puff (among other skin health claims) which is great, but I primarily use it because it feels good before doing the rest of my skincare, especially when you're fresh out of a hot shower.
    8. Caswell-Massey Elixir of Love: This fragrance's beautiful bottle caught my eye in a country store of all places! I had to try it, and was pleasantly surprised at how feminine and sophisticated it smells. The notes include, lavender bud, jasmine, passionflower, Artemisia absinthium Egyptian musk, and white woods. I think the passionflower is what is so enticing to me about this fragrance - it's not a note you get often, but happens to be one of the notes in a perfume that one of my friend's moms wears and this one instantly reminded me of her.
    9. Sparkling water with lime: This has been my go-to weeknight drink, I like serving it in a nice glass to make it feel fancy. It's a fun little evening routine and I treat it like a mocktail even though it's really just... sparkling water with lime.
    10. The Maine: My favorite band released a self-titled album this past month! It's their ninth album and I definitely need to spend more time with it (whichever album is their newest is always my least favorite until I really get to know it 😂) but Kenny and I already have tickets to see them on their upcoming tour in December!
    11. Watching: The only new thing that Kenny are I have watched this month has been the new season of How To With John Wilson on Max. It is one of our favorite shows, it's clever and hilarious and relatable all at once! We've still very much been enjoying Better Call Saul on Netflix, it makes me want to rewatch Breaking Bad! I look forward to watching the new season of Only Murders in the Building on Hulu, but we've been saving it until it's a bit more "fall" outside because it's such a fall show to us!

I hope you have a faaabulous weekend! Kenny's out of town, but two of my best friends are both in town, so we're gonna meet for dinner at our go-to spot and I'm so looking forward to catching up with them! What I'm not looking forward to: working Monday! I always feel like the only one working on Labor Day Monday because
