September Favorites

Ummm... It's October?? Don't get me wrong, October is one of my favorite months, but I feel like I blinked and it went from summer to October! ANYWAY, I have a lot of good favorites to share from September. I had a hard time keeping to just 10 things! Let's talk about em...

    1. Raincoat: I've been needing a new raincoat for a while now. My mom has this one and I borrowed it back in the summer and fell in LOVE, so she got it for me for my birthday! It's longer in the back so it covers your butt, the hood has good coverage, and it cinches at the wrists and at the waist.
    2. Coastal Cocktails: I grabbed a pack of these to take to the beach, and they're a really great canned cocktail option! I've only tried the cranberry, but I want to hunt down all the flavors to try.
    3. L.L.Bean tote: I was packing things that I needed for my friend's wedding back in the summer, and I realized that I didn't have a good big tote bag! I immediately took to the tote bag authority, L.L.Bean, to pick out one of their signature tote bags. They have the best canvas totes that come in a bunch of sizes and colors, and you can get them embroidered. I picked the extra large zip-top one in green, and my parents gave it to me for my birthday! It was perfect for Kenny's and my beach trip at the beginning of the month.
    4. Wastebaskets: I've had my eye on these water hyacinth woven wastebaskets forever, but I could never catch them on sale! Kenny's mom asked me if there was anything she could get me for my birthday, and these immediately came to mind. 😂 I got one for the bathroom and one for the bedroom and I love them! They're a beautiful way to incorporate decor elements into something not-so-cute like a trash can. They're lined with a plastic trash can inside so they're easy to clean, and they also come in an espresso color!
    5. Pearl hoop earrings: I saw these on the Mom's Sweet Shop Instagram and had to grab a pair when we were at the beach! They're sold out now, but I also love this similar pair.
    6. Green blanket: My favorite blogger, Sydney Carver, absolutely RAVES about this blanket. If you follow her then I'm sure you've seen it, but if not, she tells a story about this blanket that her entire family loved throughout her childhood and her mom still has, and she could never find a blanket that compared until this one! She shared that it was on sale recently, so I had to get one. It's a classic down throw blanket and it's thinner than your average down comforter, but sooo cozy. It comes in 17 colors currently, I got mine in fern green and I looove it.
    7. Starbucks non-dairy pumpkin spice creamer: This is the perfect pumpkin spice creamer! It's non-dairy (although it also comes in a dairy version) but super creamy and delicious, and you really only need a splash to get that perfect pumpkin spice latte flavor. I highly recommend pairing it with the Nespresso pumpkin spice cake coffee!
    8. Coupe glasses: One of Kenny's and my favorite restaurants uses these glasses for martinis, and I've always loved the way they feel to hold (and of course the pretty vintage look!) I was so happy when I found them, especially because they're only $5 apiece. I've been enjoying my at-home martinis even more with these glasses!
    9. Kate Spade Knott bag: I've been on the hunt for a tan crossbody bag, and recently got this one and I've been loving it! It comes in a few different sizes and colors, I got mine in the medium raw pecan. It's small but roomy, a beautiful shade of beige, and the crossbody strap is removable. I highly recommend it if you're on the hunt for a new crossbody!
    10. Sojos sunglasses: I've mentioned before that Sojos is my favorite seller on Amazon for sunglasses, and I've been loving this new style from them! If Celine and Gucci were to collaborate on a pair of sunglasses, I think they'd look something like this. They're super oversized and chic.

I have four shows to talk about this month, so I wanted to break them into a separate section because I have a lot to say about all of them! 😂

    1. Only Murders in the Building (Hulu): This one still has episodes coming out (one new episode every Tuesday), and I absolutely love it!! It's about three NYC apartment building neighbors who come together over their shared love of true crime and a murder that happens in their apartment building, and create a podcast about it. There are a lot of secrets that start to trickle out, and it's really fun and upbeat - not your typical murder show, ha. I love all of the main characters, and it's especially fun to see Steve Martin because I haven't seen him in anything in a while!
    2. Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu): We just finished this show after its final episode last week, and it's definitely worth a watch but wasn't my favorite show ever! It's about nine people who come to a wellness retreat for various reasons and everything that unfolds as they succumb to the unusual healing practices that the leader of the retreat employs. I feel like the fact that we had to wait a week between episodes made me lose interest to some degree, so I might have liked it more if I could've watched episodes back to back.
    3. Hacks (HBO Max): Kenny randomly picked this show, and we absolutely loved it! We watched the 10 episodes over the course of four or five days, and it was a really fun watch - I think it was my favorite show this month. It follows a young comedy writer who has been in some hot water on social media. She reluctantly takes a job Vegas to write with a less-than-cooperative veteran comedian who is working to maintain her status and audience as she ages and refuses to mix up the content of her stand-up shows.
    4. LuLaRich (Amazon Prime): Something you may not know about me is that I EAT UP anti-MLM content. 😂 I love watching YouTubers Savannah Marie and Chelsea Suarez for that, so I was excited to see how the LuLaRich portrayed the shadiness that goes on behind the scenes of these glorified pyramid schemes. If you've never delved into the anti-MLM world (and even if you have), I highly recommend this 4-episode documentary that highlights the dark side of network marketing and how ruinous it can be to those who take part in it and fall victim to the manipulation of their uplines while ignoring red flags.

I hope you have a great start to your month! October is the first month that REALLY feels like fall to me, and Kenny and I always have a packed social calendar! Both his birthday and our anniversary are next week, so we have celebrations this week and next, and I'm so excited!
