Venus et Fleur One Year Review

One of the sweetest engagement gifts I got was a mini rose arrangement from Venus et Fleur. My gorgeous friend Amanda had it shipped to Kenny's house to bring on our trip to Nashville where we got engaged so that he could give it to me after the proposal.

Amanda and I have both coveted the Venus et Fleur arrangements for years now (we send their Instagram posts to each other ALL the time, I'm sure you've seen them too), so the fact that she splurged on one for me to have as a special engagement gift was so sweet. She got me the Lé Mini Square (we both LOVE mini things) in a white box with light blue roses because she thought it was the perfect bridal combination. How cute?!

So you're probably wondering: they're so expensive, are they worth it?? I'm here after a year of having my arrangement to give the answers. Keep scrolling to see the before and after!

Kenny and I got engaged on August 17th, 2018 (read my updated post about the proposal here!) and Amanda had ordered the arrangement a few weeks prior to that to make sure that it arrived on time, so it's been over a year since mine was created.

Product claims/information: Venus et Fleur claims that each arrangement is handcrafted by a floral design specialist, and each rose is hand-selected for the arrangement it is used for. Each arrangement is guaranteed to last a year without any care whatsoever, including watering. Arrangements are made-to-order, and can be custom-designed to your preferences. You are instructed to keep the arrangement at room temperature and out of direct sunlight for maximum beauty and longevity of the roses.

First impressions: When I first got the arrangement, the flowers were a gorgeous shade of light blue, and had a beautiful rose fragrance. The care instructions that come with the arrangement tell you to store it at room temperature out of direct sunlight. I have had mine in my office close to a large window (my entire outward facing wall is solid glass) so it has experienced a significant amount of direct and indirect sunlight.

Color: A year later, the color has definitely faded, but is still a beautiful soft blue. The color is the biggest change between now and when I received the arrangement.

Fragrance: Amazingly after a year, the roses still smell wonderful! I am assuming that the smell has faded along with the color, although I can't make a comparison without having a new one to compare it to.

Condition of roses: The roses still look just as beautiful as the day I got them. There are no signs of browning, cracking, or aging of any sort. I am extremely impressed with the fact that the roses are still in the same condition as when I got them. The only visible difference is in the fading of the color. They're even still soft to the touch, not brittle or overly fragile.

Are they worth the money?: After owning my arrangement for over one year, I think that Venus et Fleur arrangements are definitely worth the price! I know, they're expensive. Their small square containing 16 regular-size roses (as opposed to the mini roses that some of the arrangements feature) costs $299. However, if you were to buy one dozen roses for $20 every week for a year, that would cost you over $1,000! I think that if you're a flower lover, Venus et Fleur is worth the cost. They're so luxurious, customization, and make a great gift, especially since you won't have to watch them wilt and throw them in the trash a week later. Plus, you can choose exactly what box and rose color you want.

So next time you want to #treatyoself or get a super special gift for someone, rest assured that your Venus et Fleur arrangement WILL still be just as beautiful a year after you order it, and beyond.
