The One Where I Marry My Best Friend

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH tomorrow's the wedding and I'm at the peak of sentimental. It's all about Kenny today! Take a walk down memory lane with me as I prepare to marry my best friend this weekend. 💘

I compiled a ton of photos from over our past five years together (fun fact - October 5th is our five-year anniversary so that's why we chose it as our wedding date), and had such a good time reliving so many memories. There were THOUSANDS to choose from, I didn't even get close to including all of the ones I wanted to! I tried to pick lots of the funny, real life, non-Insta-worthy moments, because those are our favorite memories.

This is quite possibly the very first photo Kenny and I have together from the fall of 2014. We were at our dear friend Olivia's house where we have spent MANY days since.
I posted about this moment on Instagram back at the beginning of this year. We were completely and utterly obsessed with each other at that point. 💘
I'm pretty sure this was the first photo I ever posted with Kenny (sick edit, huh??) We were at Olivia's once again, about to go to Cracker Barrel for dinner with some people. P.S. Can you believe Kenny before the beard?? He looks so baby!
...And then this happened.
Our first Valentine's Day together at the Natural Bridge Hotel! To this day it is still one of our very favorite dates we've ever been on. It was snowing and we almost died on the way there, ha. We had just said "I love you" for he first time a few days prior. I got Kenny Ray Bans, hence his eyewear choice hahaha.
...And he got me Taylor Swift tickets for Valentine's Day. He won!
We have lots of selfies trying on hats, this one was at Glen's Fair Price downtown.
Our first trip together was to Gatlinburg, Tennessee during spring break of 2015. We were chillin in the Margaritaville gift shop waiting for a table, trying on hats as usual.
Hikin' around Switzer Lake one day in early spring.
Getting ready to go on another Tennessee trip, Kenny wanted me to shave with him and I obliged. 😂
Our second trip to Tennessee a year after the first one. We went to Gatlinburg, Nashville, and ended in Memphis for a concert by The Maine before making the 13+ hour trek home.
In Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland hotel, where we would get engaged three years later. 😭💕
(Legally) exploring the abandoned Swannanoa palace.
Jammin' at a Brad Paisley concert in Salem, Kenny's hometown. We saw him again that same year at Virginia Tech with my brother.
At long last, we got to the Taylor Swift concert! This photo leaves a lot to be desired, but it was the best we could get hahaha.
We went on a weekend getaway to see a Panic! At The Disco and Weezer concert with Kenny's bff, and then National Harbor to stay at the Gaylord National (which is beautiful, but not even half as impressive as the Nashville one) and run around. This photo was my phone background for YEARS!
Heading to Virginia Beach with friends! The early wake up call hit Kenny hard. 😂
The beach is my favorite place in the world! Kenny doesn't love the hot sun and sand, but he lives it up with me there anyway.
He drug us to Redskins training camp in the pouring rain on the way home from the beach, so he got his too. 😂
My 22nd birthday!
We won the corn maze! We've been back to this corn maze every year since and we always dominate. The guy sitting on the tower behind us told us corn mazes make or break relationships... glad we made it through! Hahaha
We also go to Showalter's Apple Orchard every year. I used to enter the apple pie contest but they don't do it anymore!
At a JMU football game!
Halloween! I was wearing a cowgirl costume that my mom made me in elementary school, and Kenny dug through my old dress-up box to find the weirdest combination of costume pieces he could... and he succeeded.
On actual Halloween, we did it up RIGHT as Guy Fieri and Ina Garten. This is still the best costume we've ever had together, everyone loved it. It took so many cans of dye spray to get Kenny's hair that hideous shade of yellow, hahaha.
Another JMU football game, at the CLUB LEVEL! The Club ruined us, there's no better way to watch a game.
Photos before a night out at Olivia's once again (containing all of the classic elements of a college domicile: tapestry, taxidermied buck head??)
Getting ready to head out on our first trip to Charleston!
We made it to the iconic Waterfont Park.
And did the coolest ghost tour at a haunted jail!
Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens!
It was crazy cold this winter - so cold that you could walk out on lakes! It was super freaky even close to the edge, but there were people out ice skating so they made us feel safe in comparison.
I can't really explain this... We were locked out of Kenny's house with no key, so we met up with his friends at Denny's and were totally slap-happy. What would you have done??
Our second Taylor Swift concert, the Reputation tour at the Redskins stadium!
In the elevator at the Gaylord Opryland heading down to the Cascades atrium IMMEDIATELY before we got engaged!!!!
Back home from Nashville after getting engaged. We had toured our first wedding venue that weekend!
An absolutely stunning beach day in Princess Cays on our first cruise last year. (Shoutout to self timer!)
On our cruise ship, having a grand old time!
Snow day!
Mirror selfie out by the pool at our hotel in Phoenix this past January!I almost hate how much we loved it there since it's so far away.
Visiting our favorite toy store-dwelling cat, Annie! We truly believe that she is our biological cat.
Breakfast date while Kenny was up here to interview for a job - the job that he ended up getting! We had no idea at the time, and I love looking back on this photo knowing how things worked out.
Living our classiest lives at our first wedding together.
Used this photo to prank people into thinking we eloped when really we were just doing our elopement styled shoot.
Down on the football field during a scrimmage game! Kenny's company was announcing the winner of a contest they had held at halftime.
We love a good Nordstrom mirror selfie.
Easter!
Bittersweet, this was our last meal at our very favorite restaurant to go to together before they closed. We'll miss it forever!
A selfie among the madness that was the most
Introducing Kenny to Reddish Knob on the first day of summer, my favorite day of the year!
A selfie among the madness that was our trip to Charlotte this past summer. We had many bizarre experiences while we were there and were happy to get the hell out of dodge by the time we left, ha!
Strolling through the ole alma mater!
And last but not least, the time we ran into each other at Target the day before my birthday this year. Kenny was buying me a copy of Lover the day it came out and was going to surprise me at work because I was having a crazy day, but it was even better to see each other even more unexpectedly!

I can't believe that the wedding day is already almost here! We have so much to look forward to, and I can't wait to continue doing life with Kenny. KENNY IF YOU'RE READING THIS, I LOVE YOU AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW!

And to everyone else, ily and I'll see you when we get back from Aruba!

XOXX, LAURA BAKER BUSIC! 💍
