Funny April Fools story - when Kenny and I were in college before he applied to the graphic design program at our school, he texted me (on April first, obviously) that he had gotten into a graphic design program at another university on the other side of the state and he was going to be transferring there. He told me he didn't tell anyone that he had applied because he didn't think he'd get in, and he didn't want to tell anyone unless he did. It was such an awkward position because I had to be excited for him, but I was SO SAD that he'd be moving away and I was just now finding out out of the blue! After he told me, I had one class and then we were going to meet up for lunch, and I felt just sick and conflicted about it the whole time. When we met up for lunch we talked about the new program a little bit, and then he said "Do you wanna know what the best part about it is? April fools!" I was SO relieved! Obviously I would've been happy for him to get into a program that he wanted, it just caught me so off guard because he had never even mentioned this program before! Thank goodness it all worked out for the best. 😂
Anyways, onto favorites! I had a ton of favorites in March, I had a tough time narrowing it down to ten!
- Nespresso Odacio: Since getting my Nespresso machine, I've been dabbling in all of the different coffees they offer in search of my favorite. I'm a black coffee drinker, and the Odacio roast has been my favorite so far! It's a medium-dark roast with a good flavor without being overly strong.
- Built Bars: I got a sample box of these after being influenced by an Instagram ad, and I've been really enjoying them. Some of the flavors aren't my favorite, but I haven't found any that I don't like. They're chewy and fluffy at the same time, almost like nougat. The're relatively low calorie for how many grams of protein they contain, and don't taste chalky, which is a major must for me with protein bars.
- Espresso chips: I grabbed a bag of these after seeing Meagan Brandon post about them on Instagram, and they're SO good! Tiramisu is my favorite dessert, and these really remind me of it. I made some browned butter chocolate chip cookies with them and they were super good.
- Sweater: This sweater is so inexpensive, and so good! I've worn it at 4-5 times in the past couple of weeks, and it's lightweight, cozy, and comfy, especially for working from home. It washes well too and doesn't pill, which I was surprised by for the price. I'm wishing I had gotten the matching lounge pants to wear while working from home!
- Mineragua: I've always loved sparkling water, but something about drinking it from a glass bottle just hits different! I found this at my local grocery store in the Hispanic section.
- Sherpa blanket: I got this blanket as a wedding gift and have been loving it ever since, but what's REALLY sent it over the top this past month has been how much Roxy loves it! When I brought her home and set her on the bed, she immediately started kneading it and snuggled up in it. Ever since, it's been her favorite place to lay, so I ordered another so she could have one in the living room too. It's the best!
- Bee cat toys: When I brought Roxy home, I didn't want to get her too many toys because I didn't want her to end up bored of all of them. I got her these bee toys because they have crinkly wings and she loves playing with things with crinkly textures. She loves them! I immediately bought her another pack as a backup, and she plays with them every day. We even play fetch!
- Sunglasses: I thought these were cool designer dupes, and I've been loving wearing them with more casual outfits. They're a fun, modern take on the classic cat eye. They're not my usual style, but for the price, they're super fun even just to try!
- Bogle Vineyards Merlot: I picked this up at the grocery store on a whim and was so impressed by how much I enjoyed it! Definitely a new grocery store wine favorite. It tastes much more expensive than it is. I grabbed a couple more bottles of the merlot, and one of the pinot noir too.
- Love Island: After watching Love is Blind, it's been all downhill with me and watching dating reality shows. My friend told me that if I loved Love is Blind, then I had to watch Love Island. And BOY was she right! It's originally a UK show, but a US season came out last year. I watched that one first and loved it. I watched more than half of season one of the UK version before tapping out. It is SO bad! But my friend promised me that the UK seasons get better, so I'm going to give it another try with season two. There's also an AUSTRALIAN version (which started in 2018) which Kenny have gotten deep into this week too. Tt's much more similar to the US version, we're really enjoying it so far. I'm already excited for season two of the US version to premiere later this spring.
I hope you're having a great week so far! We had AMAZING weather here over the weekend which was such a treat, so I'm hoping for more of that soon. I don't know if beautiful weather makes being quarantined better or worse, but it can't hurt! It does make me want to be sitting outside at a vineyard with all my friends, though... Soon, I hope!
