I keep seeing people posting about how long the month of January feels, and now that we've made it to the end I have to agree. 😂 This is truly the DEAD of winter and I think pretty much everyone is craving some warmer weather right about now! Luckily for me, Kenny and I are heading south today to catch a cruise to Mexico from Florida, so I am hoping for a taste of summer! Even some of my January favorites indicate that I'm looking forward to some warmer weather - let's talk about them!
- Brixton Houston hat: I don't know why I decided that I needed a straw cowboy hat, but I was right. 😂 I haven't worn this anywhere yet, but I HAVE worn it around the house and
- Lush Sleepy lotion: This is a favorite lotion of mine for the beautiful lavender scent, and Kenny got me a new jar for Christmas. I first got it when we were on a trip to Phoenix so the scent always reminds me of that trip!
- Blondo booties: I got a pair of Blondo booties last winter, and what's great about them is that they look like regular stylish booties, but they're waterproof! The pair I have isn't available this season, but I linked a pair with the same cool stacked heels in the same gorgeous chocolate suede.
- Down pillows: This is going to sound insane, but I have slept on the same exact pillow for almost 20 years, and I know this because I got it as a birthday gift in 2004. Yes, my little Virgo self asked for a down pillow for her birthday. 😂 As you can imagine, that pillow has been through a lot and isn't as fluffy as it once was, so I've recently switched to these which I've had for while but not actually slept on them until recently and I really like them. They're fluffy and luxurious, but still malleable which is what I like about down pillows.
- Rolf glasses: I needed some new high ball glasses, and when I saw these I knew they were the ones! They're heavy and high quality, and I LOVE the palm pattern.
- Cardigan: I recently got this cardigan in two colors and it's the perfect layering piece. It has a relaxed fit and I took my true size small. The material is the perfect weight, and I haven't had any issues with pulls or pilling so far.
- OPI "Chiffon My Mind": I've mentioned this nail shade several times - it's one of my favorites and the color I wore for my wedding! I've been wearing it for two months straight now, it's the perfect milky white with a hint of frosty shimmer.
- Health-ade passion fruit tangerine kombucha: I love kombucha, and this has become one of my favorite flavors - it's less vinegary than others and super fresh.
- Seamless undies: I saw a couple of people recommend these Amazon seamless underwear so I got a pack and they're amazing! Super comfy and under $20 for six pairs.
- 365 Cats Calendar: If you saw my office, you'd surely think I am a crazy cat lady because I have three different cat calendars. 😂 This one is a daily calendar with reader-submitted photos and little tidbits about their cats. I submitted a photo of Roxy, so I hope to see her included next year!
- Cozy YouTube videos: I love reading outside in the summer, but I have such a hard time getting into books in the winter in some reason - I just can't concentrate! My friend told me to put on a cozy video in the background while reading, so I started doing that and it's been SO nice! I like the "Cozy Timez" channel, but I usually just search "cozy winter ambiance" or something similar and pick one that looks nice.
- Watching: Kenny and I love Tim Robinson, so I was surprised that we had never seen his show Detroiters before! If you like I Think You Should Leave on Netflix you'll like it - It's a comedy show that's a quick watch because the episodes are each only about 20 minutes - it's on Paramount+! Another quick watch we enjoyed this month was the American Nightmare documentary on Netflix - I won't say too much about it in case you haven't seen it but it was a good watch! I hate when documentaries drag on, and this one was the perfect length to include all of the details and not add too much fluff.
I hope you have a great weekend, happy February! It's a leap year this year which is crazy because it marks four years since we adopted Roxy - we got her on leap day of 2020 and that was the BEST day! She's the best cat on planet earth and we are so lucky to have her - we got her just in time to have as a buddy during COVID, and I'm so grateful for that. 💗
