October Favorites

Don't cha love a Friday favorites post? Today's list has several recurring seasonal favorites that I would be remiss not to mention!

    1. No-show undies: I'm in the process of overhauling my underwear collection, and I've replaced most of my old pairs with these no-show cheekies and thongs. They're the best no-show underwear I've ever worn other than the Gilly Hicks kind that seems to have been discontinued! They look very small when you first get them because they're super stretchy, but I wear my true size.
    2. Teddy fleece pullover: I impulse-bought this vintage-inspired fleece pullover this month and immediately wore it on a hike when I got it in! It's sooo cozy - it has an oversized fit, I stuck with my usual size small but you could size down for a closer fit.
    3. Better Than Bullion: It's soup season, people! Last year I stopped buying broth and stock and started using Better Than Bullion instead because it's easy and much cheaper. It comes in tons of flavors including several vegetarian options which are the ones I use, and it's also a great addition to sauces and marinades to add depth of flavor.
    4. Amazon aviators: I've been wearing these oversized aviators a ton this month, I like styling them with baseball hats when hiking and with more casual outfits.
    5. Target yoga pants: I had to have these yoga pants when I saw they came in a beautiful chocolate brown shade! Reviewers compare them to the Lululemon align mini-flare pants, but I don't own those so I can't speak to how similar they are. They're true to size but fairly compressive in the tummy area, so you could size up for a less constrictive fit. These are very soft and a thinner material than my go-to Old Navy yoga pants - if I had to pick one of the two, I'd go with the Old Navy ones because the material is a bit heavier and more sleek, but I love the Target ones for different reasons.
    6. Denim shirt dress: Denim shirt dresses have become a staple for me over the last couple of years! They're great throw-on-and-go pieces that are right at the intersection of tailored and casual. I got a midi that's now sold out but this one is very similar, and I've also been wearing this one from last year that's back in stock. Both look perfect with my favorite belt!
    7. Blackberry and Eucalyptus candle: I ordered this candle on a whim after reading reviews that it's a dupe for Diptyque Baies, and it is super similar! I immediately ordered two more - it's currently out of stock online but it pops back up intermittently, sign up for in-stock notifications if you're interested in trying it!
    8. Mules: I've mentioned these mules several times and I had to include them in my favorites again this month - I'm wearing them as I write this post! They're my workwear MVP during transitional seasons when it's too chilly for sandals but I'm not ready for boots. I have them in two colors and they're real leather, under $60, true to size, and super comfy. The only critique I have is that the hardware on the black pair I have is very brassy yellow, whereas on these nude ones it is more muted, which I prefer.
    9. Diamond earrings: Kenny surprised me with a pair of diamond earrings for our anniversary and I have been wearing them nonstop! He gave them to me when we were stuck in traffic after dinner (IYKYK from this post 😂) and it was so sweet and spur-of-the-moment!
    10. OPI "Yes My Condor Can-Do!": This is a new-to-me nail shade that has become a favorite this month! It's the perfect deep blend of maroon and chocolate brown.
    11. Riley Sheehey playing cards: I have become a huge fan of Riley Sheehey's work this year - she's a Virginia-based artist, and she's been doing a weekly playing card series this year where she paints over a different playing card each week and posts it to Instagram. I was going to get a print of my favorite one, but then when she announced that she was releasing a REAL deck of cards featuring all of the designs, I preordered one immediately! Preorders are still open, so I had to include them in this month's favorites.
    12. Watching: Lots of fun watches this month! Kenny and I watched Nobody Wants This on Netflix and it's SUPER cute and well done! I do think it's overhyped, but that doesn't detract from it being a great watch. I've been loving the latest DC season of Love Is Blind, although I haven't seen as much buzz about it yet as I have with recent seasons. We've also enjoyed the new season of Outer Banks so far - me more so than Kenny, I don't think I'd be as obsessed with it if I wasn't so obsessed with the Outer Banks in real life (even though the show is nothing like the real Outer Banks). Last but not least, Kenny and I started It's Florida, Man and it's crazy so far! There are only two episodes out (they release on Friday nights), but each of them are dramatic reenactments of different crazy stories out of Florida as told by the real people the stories are about. The first episode had us GAGGED, I was watching through my fingers and Kenny had to leave the room at one point. 😂 Last but not least, we watched Dazed and Confused which neither of us had never seen, but was so good and it's the source of SO many iconic Matthew McConaughey lines!

Have an amazing weekend! My brother and his girlfriend are hosting a bonfire tomorrow night and I'm so excited, I haven't been to a bonfire in years and I have been dying to! I plan on wearing this outfit in case you're wondering. 😂
