December Favorites

HELLOOOO and Happy New Year! I have so missed being here on the blog - I didn't intend to be so absent over the break, but I'm sure you were just as busy as I was and didn't miss me! My last "real time" post was my pistachio cookie recipe. I had my vodka pasta recipe scheduled and I HIGHLY recommend checking that one out if you're in the mood for some comfort food - I'm thinking of making it this week!

ANYWAY I am back today to share my December favorites, and I have my yearly favorites post for 2022 coming later this week!

    1. Plaid apron: I love a festive apron - I got this one last year for the holidays and I've loved wearing it this year too. I'm actually wearing it as I type this because I had it on while doing some housework earlier. 😂 It's great quality and currently on sale!
    2. Velvet bow headband: I fell in love with this headband after seeing it on Amanda Marshall and snagged it on Black Friday - it looks a wee bit childish on me but I love it nonetheless. 😂 It's my first Lele Sadoughi headband and the only downside for me is that everyone swears that brand makes the most comfortable headbands, but this one does hurt me after a while! I own a lot of headbands, and my most comfortable ones are J.Crew.
    3. Heart earrings: I've been wearing these constantly lately, they're weightless but still make a statement! They're gold plated and only $13 but look like real gold.
    4. Mango Bubly: I'm a big fan of sparkling water and enjoy most flavors, but Bubly's mango flavor became one of my favorites this month - I like it more than La Croix's mango!
    5. Blush in "Seduce": I've never been a blush wearer, but I've started playing with it recently and my go-to has been this Tarte blush in the shade "Seduce," it's a pretty neutral shade that would work for many skintones. I use this brush to stamp it onto my cheekbones, and I've been loving putting some on the tip of my nose!
    6. OPI "Chiffon My Mind": This was my wedding nail color, and my salon had since run out of it. I was missing it, so I went ahead and purchased a bottle of it online to bring to my appointments with me. It's a slightly sheer creamy shade with subtle white and blue glitter - it gives me "winter wonderland" vibes this time of year! Usually only cosmetic professionals can purchase OPI gel polish, but the site I got it form sells authentic products to "civilians," ha.
    7. Lip gloss in "Honey Diamond": I'm a sucker for a sparkly lip gloss, and this has been my recent favorite - the Honey Diamond shade has a gold micro glitter, and I love wearing it over this tinted lip balm in the shade "Bliss You Berry."
    8. Slippers: Ugg slippers are my favorite, and I was due for a new pair because my old ones were very worn out! I got some for Christmas and they feel (and look!) so much better.
    9. Makeup wipes: I've always been a cotton-ball-and-eye-makeup-remover girl when it comes to taking off my eye makeup at the end of the day, but I've had so much trouble getting decent size cotton balls lately (has anyone else had this problem??) I got tired of using tiny cotton balls and got these washable microfiber makeup wipes - now I don't have to worry about surface area, and these are reusable so no more messing around with cotton balls!
    10. Wine cellar candle: This was probably my most exciting favorite of the month - my favorite candle of all time is back! I've mentioned this candle several times before, and it sometimes goes away for years at a time to the point where I get scared that it's gone for good. It was back this year for the holidays, and I stocked up!
    11. Watching: My favorite show this month has been the new season of Firefly Lane on Netflix - I just LOVE that show despite how poorly Kate's character is acted and how corny she and her husband/ex husband's relationship is. 😂 Kenny and I have been watching Girls on HBO Max which is one of those shows that makes me CRINGE SOOO HARD but I enjoy it nonetheless. Speaking of cringe, I watched the new season of Too Hot to Handle, which is such a worthless show but I can't help but watch. ALSO in the cringe category, I've been watching the new season of Emily in Paris - I might be in the minority in thinking it's not a good show, but I have to watch! Lastly, Kenny and I watched Glass Onion on Netflix which I really liked - I love lighthearted, comedic movies like that one and I really liked Knives Out so I figured we'd like that one too.

I hope you had a great holiday season and are entering the new year refreshed! I'm going back to work tomorrow and I'm so not ready - I think I'm in denial. 😂 In the words of my 2022 mantra (which I'm still working on in 2023): "it is what it is!"
