As I sit here on my couch trying to stay warm on a chilly January day, I'm employing all of my favorite cozy must-haves for making it through winter. For all of my fellow cold-natured friends, I wanted to share all of the little luxuries that I use to stay warm and comfy this time of year (the majority of which I am using at this very moment! 😂)
- Robe: I've mentioned several times over the years that when I'm at home, I almost ALWAYS have on a cozy robe, whether its over loungewear or my "real" clothes. It's basically wearing a blanket! Have y'all seen the Skims duvet robe?? I have GOT to get my hands on it, it's pretty much the coziest-looking thing I've ever seen in my life. 😂
- Slippers: Ugg slippers are my ride-or-die, I wear them in conjunction with my robe anytime I'm at home! They're so comfy and warm, and the soles are substantial so you can wear them outside if you want to.
- Down throw blanket: This down throw blanket is my absolute favorite throw - SO fluffy and cozy, and the perfect size for snuggling up on the couch binging your favorite show.
- Candle: Nothing amps up the cozy-factor of a winter day in like lighting a candle. Aptly, my favorite scent for wintertime is "Winter" from Bath & Body Works.
- Insulated mug: LISTEN I'm sure we all have Yeti mugs by now, but they truly are the best for keeping hot drinks hot! I love the classic mug-shaped ones with the handles for home and my office; isn't it just extra cozy to be able to clutch a mug with both hands and hold it up to your face?? I'm romanticizing.
- Kirkland merino wool socks: I have owned these socks for so many years, and everyone I know who has them always says they're the best! They're made from cozy merino wool but they're not very bulky at all. I always wear them with my boots, whether I'm dressed up at the office or up in the mountains on a hike.
- Mittens: We all have coats, scarves, beanies, etc. but what a lot of people don't own is a good pair of mittens! They're not as convenient to wear as gloves, but when warmth is the main goal, then these mittens cannot be beat. They're lined with a sherpa material that is SO warm and cozy. One of my best friends said years ago that mittens let your fingers snuggle, and I have never forgotten that, ha!
- Space heater: This thing is my right hand man at my office! I use it PRETTY MUCH all day every day, even in the summer because I cannot control the thermostat in my office and it gets CHILLY!
- Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-Balm: I've mentioned this maybe a million times at this point, but this is the BEST lip balm on the market - if I could only have ONE skincare product, it would be this one.
- Neutrogena hand cream: This is my FAVORITE hand cream - in the winter when your skin needs a little extra love and moisture, it can't be beat. It's thick and healing but absorbs easily, AND it's only $5 from the drugstore!
I hope your week is off to a great start! I'm currently working on planning what I want to make for dinners this week. Kenny expressed an interest in spaghetti squash which I LOVE but he's previously told me he doesn't like, so I'm going to try this recipe with a few tweaks, I hope it's good! Although with heavy cream, garlic, and cheese, how bad could it possibly be?
