It's finally June!! It's been well documented here on the blog that summer is my favorite season, so I am so excited we have reached the month where it officially begins - hopefully with some summery weather after a very wet and dreary spring! I am very much looking forward to this month because I have my best friend's wedding coming up, followed by a beach trip!
- Albanese bear cub gummies: Albanese gummy bears are the best in my opinion, and the mini "bear cub" variety are even better! I get them in bulk at a local farmers market and they're so cute and and the perfect thing to grab a handful of when you have a sweet tooth.
- Salted PDO Isigny butter: I've tried a lot of "fancy" butter that has not impressed me, but oh my goodness this one is delicious! It has large flakes of salt throughout and is just perfect on a piece of sourdough toast. I found it at a local market, but I've heard Whole Foods has it too.
- Scalloped straw bucket hat: By now, you know I love a straw hat. I had to snag this scalloped one (which also comes in navy!) I would say it runs fairly large, I got the S/M size and I wish it were a bit more snug.
- OPI Dutch Tulips: This was my nail shade of the month - it's a classic red with just a HINT of magenta. There are an excessive number of red nail shades out there at this point, but it's amazing what one that perfectly complements your skin tone can do! I've worn seemingly similar reds before that just don't go with my undertone, so once you find the perfect red for you it's hard to stray! Toward the end of the month I switched to an unnamed pastel blue, and I've been loving that too!
- Teriyaki seaweed: More often than a sweet tooth, I get a SALTY tooth in the afternoons! I like keeping packs of seaweed in my office for days I need a little salt hit. I recently grabbed this teriyaki flavor and it's so yummy! Savory and a tiny bit sweet.
- Simple Modern 40oz tumbler: This is my favorite daily tumbler for keeping ice water on me at all times. When my last one wouldn't sit upright anymore after suffering one too many drops (oops) I immediately repurchased a new one rather than branching out to another brand. It keeps ice frozen forever, fits into a cupholder, and comes in a ton of cute colors.
- Linen shirt and shorts set: Matching sets are so lovely for summertime - polished yet comfy, and easy to accessorize. I love these linen shorts in particular because I prefer a longer inseam and these have about a 6" inseam.
- Tory Burch Sublime: This is a gorgeous fresh fragrance, it reminds me of the combination of scents that you get when walking past the perfume counter in a department store. My cowoker purchased a bottle for herself immediately the first time I wore it in front of her at work! The notes include mandarin essence, ivy accord, peach, rose, osmanthus absolute, magnolia accord, leather accord, patchouli, and vetiver essence.
- Otterbox Defender case: I got a new phone a week ago and I have to shout the ONLY phone case I have used ever since I got my first iPhone around 2012 - the Otterbox Defender. 😂 THAT'S RIGHT I have never had a cute phone case in my life, but this one has NEVER steered me wrong and I don't pay for phone insurance, so I need all of the protection I can get.
- Seashell dish: Whenever I see anything seashell-themed I have a hard time resisting it! These stainless steel snack dishes are too cute, and there's a larger version too.
- Watching: I love watching true crime YouTubers, and after having already watched a few different deep dives on the Mackenzie Shirilla case I had to watch The Crash on Netflix. If you enjoyed the documentary I highly recommend Annie Elise's videos on the case because there's so much that the Netflix documentary doesn't touch on! On a lighter note, Kenny and I are loving Company Retreat on Prime, which is the follow up to Jury Duty. Jury Duty was one of my very favorite shows of 2023 - I included it in my yearly favorites post! It's is one of the funniest, most clever concepts for a show that I've ever seen - it's a "documentary" that follows a small business on their company retreat, but the catch is that everything is completely set up and all of the members of the show are actors except for one guy who truly believes that he's working as a temp for a real business.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We FINALLY had a few days without rain for the first time in over a week, and man was it nice!!
