June Favorites

Happy JULY, the dead of summer! Not to sound crazy, but I already start getting sad for summer to end when July hits. 😂 I can't help it!! We still have MANY hot and sunny days ahead of us though, and I have some good summer favorites from June to share with you!

    1. Wegmans honey mustard pretzel pieces: I LOVE the Snyder's honey mustard and onion pretzel pieces so I had to give these a try - Kenny and I have eaten two bags this month! They're so crunchy and flavorful.
    2. Delicates bags: Somehow I have never owned true delicates bags, just a bra-shaped one that I've been making work. For the number of times I've used these in the last month, I don't know how I ever lived without them. The zipper is coated in rubber so that it won't snag anything else in your laundry, and there's also a flap you can tuck it into.
    3. Marin lip balm: My friend knows I love lip balm and recommended this brand to me. It's a new favorite of mine, which is a high bar! The texture is thick and nourishing but not sticky, and the tube comes with a substantial amount. Most of the flavors are food-related which I don't love, I got the strawberry rhubarb hoping it would be fruity but it smells like pie. Luckily the smell isn't overwhelming, and I also ordered the unscented which is truly unscented.
    4. SPF compact: My friend gave this to me to try, and as someone who doesn't wear foundation, it's a great product to get some coverage without wearing true makeup. It has SPF 68 (random) and the shade adjusts to match your skin tone, I've been enjoying wearing it for "fancier" occassions like my friend's wedding.
    5. Pressed flower stickers: I couldn't tell you the last time I bought stickers, but these are so fun! They're scans of real pressed flowers and leaves and they're so pretty. I used them to jazz up bridal shower decor for my friend, and I've been loving adding them to cards and such.
    6. Bridesmaid dress: I was the maid of honor in my bestie's wedding last month and this was my dress, I absolutely LOVED it and will definitely wear it again if I have an occasion! It is super comfortable and flattering, and excellent quality for the price. It is true to size and didn't require a stitch of altering! I am 5'7" and wore 3-4 inch heels and it was the perfect length.
    7. It Happened One Summer: This is the first book I've read in a year. 😂 I spend most of my downtime cross stitching, but brought this book to the beach and it was such a fun, girly read with some spice!
    8. Matching set (shirt, shorts): I've been on the hunt for the perfect linen matching sets this summer and this is my latest favorite. The shirt and shorts are both true to size (I got the small in both) but have a relaxed fit, so you could size down if you wanted a more tailored look.
    9. Raffia platform sandals: I love a raffia sandal and I love a heel! These sandals are super comfortable thanks to the platform, and they are very lightweight which makes them a lot easier to walk in.
    10. Nipple covers: I got these at the recommendation of Shea Whitney to try with some of my summer dresses to avoid wearing a strapless bra, and they have been great! I am wearing them as I type this. 😂 They're sticky enough to stay in place with tighter tops and don't hurt when you remove them, but they do tend to move around if you wear them with something looser. The edges are super thin for a seamless look. They're washable to maintain their adhesion, but I've worn them several times so far and haven't had to wash them yet.
    11. Lash lift/tint: My friend is an esthetician and offered me a lash lift and tint before we went to the beach. I am lucky to have good eyelashes so I didn't know if it would make much of a difference, but I have been LOVING it! Mascara is my favorite makeup product, but I can truly skip it with the tint. It makes me feel so pretty without makeup!
    12. Watching: It's been all Love Island USA all the time this month! I'm currently behind - I'm still on the Casa Amor episodes, but trying my best to catch up after a busy last couple of weeks! I am fully entrenched in the Obsession discourse. I almost hesitate to recommend this movie because while it is incredible, it made me feel SO horrible for days after I saw it! Obviously the intention of horror movies is to unsettle the audience, but this one really sat with me. I have always been a horror movie fan, and there was a time where nothing was too scary for me, but something has shifted in recent years that has made me far more affected by horror movies than I used to be. Empathetically, I have been having a really hard time separating the fake scenes in movies from real personal struggles that people face. It sounds so lame but I cannot deny it at this point! There were three main scenes from this movie that have really lingered with me and I won't spoil anything, I will issue a small trigger warning that I wish I had seen someone allude to before I saw the movie: if you're cat lady like me that doesn't want to experience a cat death that keeps coming back up, maybe skip this one or mentally prepare before seeing it.

I hope you have a great long weekend! We're in for a HOT one, but I will still be outside! My mom and I are going to the pool, and Kenny and I plan on going on a hike. There are also a few firework events we plan on going to!
