September Favorites

Well September flew right by, didn't it?? I'm very excited for October - it's always such an fun-filled month for Kenny and me, and the most quintessentially "fall" month in my opinion. Kenny and I are leaving on a trip soon to somewhere we've never been and we're really looking forward to it - more on that soon, for now let's chat September favorites!

    1. Denim shirt dress: I know this is going to be one of my most-worn pieces this fall, I've already worn it several times! It looks great with a sweater or a scarf over the shoulders, belted, with a vest, and with sandals, boots, or sneakers! It's the perfect true denim material but still soft. I would recommend sizing up at least one size, or maybe two if you have a larger chest.
    2. Bev hats: I'm sure I've included these in a favorites post before, but they're worth featuring again because I've been using them a lot lately. They're little mesh cloches to keep bugs and debris from getting in your drink when you're outside!
    3. Eternity band: I got this as a travel wedding band and it's so nice. I've had it for over two years now and I absolutely recommend it, especially for the price. The stones are clear and sparkly (I clean the ring like I clean my real wedding rings), it's sterling silver so it won't change color, and it comes in small sizes unlike a lot of other faux diamond bands.
    4. Pearl hoop earrings: I've been looking for a good pearl hoop earring that isn't too big and isn't super expensive. These are perfect - they're a great size, a nice tone of gold, and only $12.
    5. Hot coffee with cold foam: My coffee tastes are very simple (hot and black!) and for that reason I rarely buy coffee out. I saw Sydney Carver recommend getting hot coffee with cold foam if you're not a fan of super sweet drinks but want something fun, and it's perfection! I've gotten pumpkin spice cold foam a couple of times this fall, and peppermint mocha during the holidays is so good. I want to try the pecan cold foam at Starbucks next!
    6. Screen protectors: I had been buying expensive tempered glass screen protectors forever, but my friend recommended these and they're JUST as good as the pricey ones. They come in a pack of 3 for less than $10! I recently fell with my phone in my hand and SMASHED the screen onto gravel - ouch. The screen protector shattered but my actual phone screen was unscathed thank goodness!
    7. Mini cocktail shaker: One of my favorite restaurants uses these mini cocktail shakers when you order a drink and I've always joked about wanting to steal one. My friend got me one for my birthday so I wouldn't have to be tempted anymore. 😂 It's the perfect size for a martini!
    8. Vacation Grand Cuvée: Kenny got this for me for my birthday after I said I wanted to try it - it's such a unique unisex scent that's perfect for this time of year - sexy and rich! The notes include vanilla bean, Chardonnay, peach eau de vie, sabered Champagne cork, argan, sunwashed sails, sunkissed skin, amber, cedarwood, and Cognac. It's a little sweet, a little woody, and a little boozy.
    9. Block print dress: I've spoken about this brand several times, including Friday's post and this post. They make the most beautiful dresses that look like Sue Sartor for a fraction of the price. This is my newest one and it might be my favorite! It's a great length for a mini, I wear the medium.
    10. Chocolate brown nails: I got my nails painted dark brown recently and I'm loving it! It's definitely going to become a go-to shade for fall and winter.
    11. Watching: Not watching anything new on TV lately, but there are a couple of new podcasts on YouTube that I've been loving! The first is the JK Podcast with two of my favorite creators from way back, Kathleen Lights and Jessi Smiles (I also love Do We Know Them? with Jessi Smiles but that one's been around for a few years). I just love their chemistry and they're so funny. The second one is Hear Me Out with Morgan Adams and her friend Brooke Barry. I have a parasocial relationship with Morgan and I feel like we would be friend in real life - I love her sense of humor and she and Brooke are so funny and cute together! Not a show but in the media category, I've been really enjoying The Starting Line's new album, Eternal Youth. "I See How It Is" and "Defeating The Purpose + Pivot" are my current favorite tracks.

I hope you're having a wonderful week!! Who else is excited for the New Taylor Swift album on Friday?? I'm an OG Taylor Swift fan and I have not been obsessed with the last couple of albums... I know this might be unpopular, but I'm hoping she returns to a less angsty sound! One person who's an even bigger Swiftie than I am is my husband - he bought tickets to her "cinematic experience" as soon as we announced it so we're going to that on Friday and I'm excited!!
