Cozy Plaid Cape

Cape | Turtleneck | Jeans | Belt | Boots (similar, similar) | Bag

Remember when blanket scarves were all the rage? This plaid cape is their grown up, chicer sister. When I was wearing this outfit walking through downtown Boone, a woman passed me and said "Oh my gosh how cute, you don't even need a jacket!" and she's right! It's cut in a way that it looks like a scarf, but fits around the back of your neck so that it lays nicely and doesn't slip off your shoulders. The perfect transitional layer!

My friend has this same small L.L.Bean Boat and Tote, and after seeing her wear it as a purse last year I followed suit and I love wearing it as a casual everyday bag! I have navy, but I LOVE the antique olive and deep rosewood colorways. 😍

I don't often wear jeans in outfit posts, so it's a good time to highlight these straight jeans! I have them in four washes from over the years (including off-white and coated black, which are my most worn) and they are perfect. Super high-waisted, a nice length (I'm 5'7" and get the regular), and true to size (I wear size 2). They have just a touch of stretch so they're comfortable and forgiving, but still wear like true denim and don't stretch out in the knees. They come in a curvy version too.

I styled the jeans with my favorite belt - it's reversible and I get a ton of wear out of it! Since I wear it high-waisted I got the extra small, but if I were wearing it at the hips I would wear my true size small.

I cannot recommend these boots enough - they're a gorgeous shade of chocolate brown suede, and believe it or not, they're also waterproof! It's not often I see a trend in my LTK sales, but I've sold several pairs of these over the past couple of months, so it's safe to say others are loving them too!

I hope you're having a wonderful week! Kenny and I just got a new TV so that's been big for us this week. 😂 Our old TV up and DIED which is crazy because it was only about five years old, but apparently that's not uncommon for the model we had. We spent a long time in Costco on Sunday talking to one of their electronics guys and he made us feel good about the new one we chose, so fingers crossed it lasts longer than five years this time!

I also wanted to share some additional outfits styling this cape. This outfit is very similar to the one I'm wearing above - I wore it to a winery with my mom, I love any opportunity to wear my cowboy boots!

This is a great outfit for fall outdoor activities - I get so much use out of my Hunter boots, I'm glad they're back on trend this season! I also plan on wearing this outfit to work with suede knee high boots

A sweater dress with a glorified blanket on top is the ultimate cozy combo for fall!

Talk to you soon! I have a Blowing Rock trip recap in the works that I hope to publish Friday, so I'll catch you back here then!
