In these photos, you are witnessing my last moments of normalcy before I was stricken with norovirus a few hours later. 😂 That was truly the sickest I can ever remember being, my heart goes out to those of you who have experienced it!!
The main thing I want to discuss in this post is this pair of ballet flats. They are the first pair I've owned since middle school, and they warrant a dedicated review because they're amazing!
My point of apprehension when buying ballet flats is that they are notoriously uncomfortable. The two main issues I've had with ballet flats (and loafers, for that matter) is pinching at the toes, and rubbing at the heels, both causing blisters and all around discomfort. These do not give me either of those issues - they were comfortable right out of the box and continue to break in, especially around the heels thanks to the perfectly malleable leather they're constructed from. The grosgrain toe cap is the perfect Chanel-inspired touch that doubles as an extra layer of protection for the leather in that area. Another design feature that I appreciate tis that the toe box is deep enough that you don't get that unflattering "toe cleavage" effect.
As far as sizing goes, I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than my usual size based on reviews stating that they run large. They fit perfectly, so I definitely recommend sizing down at least a half size, potentially a full size if you're in between sizes.
The rest of my outfit is comprised of preppy wardrobe staples that you likely already have in your closet! This belt is one of my most worn accessories (and it's reversible - black on the other side!), and my faux baroque pearl necklace is on sale for under $55 but looks much more expensive. I even had a jeweler compliment it!
It was BRUTALLY cold and windy when I was taking these photos - luckily you can barely tell. 😂 I was surprised how casually windblown my hair looks because I felt like I might as well have been climbing Mount Everest.
I hope you're having a great week! Mine has gone surprisingly quickly despite being busy. I'm looking forward to this weekend because Kenny and I are going to a Zac Brown Band concert! Zac Brown Band puts on one of the best live shows I've ever seen, this will be my third time seeing them and it will be the prefect spring weekend activity - it's calling for really nice weather, too!
